Genders and genres

Just as there are multiple genres, there are multiple genders. The idea of gender is strongly linked to performing genres that are not limited by the categories of male and female. Connecting ideas of gender with the possibilities of genres, the word gender can only be rendered in plural and therefore in multiple possibilities.

Nostrxs Intersex

In Spanish, gender is marked in the personal pronoun plural. Nosotros and nosotras refer to "we" in the masculine and feminine genders. By replacing the vowels a and o with x, the pronoun's gender specification is neutralized.
